Meeting on South Mediterranean dialogue regarding electronic communications and information society - Athens


Athens hosted last 18-19 November the first meeting on South Mediterranean dialogue regarding electronic communications and the information society, an event organised by the European Commission (EC) in the scope of cooperation between the European Union (EU) and the Mediterranean partner countries. The meeting’s aim was to gather the various parties involved to promote a competitive regulatory atmosphere that attracts investment in the electronic communications sector. It also sought agreement on recommendations and best practices to apply in the context of cooperation between regulators and other regional players, per the terms of the approved joint statement. ANACOM attended the meeting as current EMERG chair, summarising activities during 2013 and presenting recommendations approved to date that concern various topics of importance for the sector.
