Brussels hosted last 2-3 December a workshop joining BEREC and the Euro-Mediterranean Regulators Group (EMERG), focusing on enforcement and the appeal of regulatory decisions. The meeting was attended by about 30 participants from European Union member countries and Mediterranean Basin countries outside the EU. It was ascertained that significant alignment exists between systems of the EU countries and the others, despite some differences at the level of appeal procedures (number/type of instances, deadlines, etc), maximum sanction amounts and the scope of intervention by national regulatory authorities when implementing them.
