BEREC Contact Network meeting - The Hague


The BEREC Contact Network met last 5-6 September in the Hague, Netherlands. Highlights included debate about the Single Market Initiative, based on information put forward by the European Commission (EC). The EC also provided information about the proposal for implementation of an electronic system to share and gather data and benchmarks.

With a view to their respective completion and for approval by the plenary session, the following documents were debated: BEREC International Roaming Compliance and International Roaming BEREC Benchmark data reports, Methodology for Monitoring the Implementation of the BEREC Common Positions on Wholesale Local Access (WLA), Wholesale Broadband Access (WBA) and Wholesale Leased Lines (WLL).

Also finalised for plenary session approval ahead of public consultation were the following documents: BEREC WP 2014 and revision of BEREC Common Position on Geographic Aspects of Market Analysis.

Note also the discussion about the BEREC internal procedures and rules of procedure (RoP) of the Board of Regulators (BoR), as well as the methodology and criteria to use when drawing up the report on Ecosystem Dynamics in Net Neutrality Developments from an End-User Perspective. Other highlights included discussion of the draft document on the BERECnet and the handling of several other issues concerning how the Office functions, specifically regarding personnel.
