WRC-15 Preparation at CEPT level

The European Conference of Postal and Telecommunications Administrations (CEPT) is a regional organization established in 1959 by representatives of 19 countries, and joined today by 48 members, including ANACOM which represents Portugal. CEPT’s activities include co-operation on commercial, operational, regulatory and technical standardisation issues.

CEPT is also responsible for coordinating common European positions to be submitted to World Radiocommunication Conferences (WRC). In view of the WRC-15, the Conference Preparatory Group (CPG-15) was established to fully prepare CEPT for this conference.  Under the guidance of this group, four project teams (PT) were created, charged with discussing and developing briefs (work documents from/to CEPT Administrations) and, where consensus has been reached, also European Common Proposals (ECP) - formal proposals which correspond to European contributions to the work of World Conferences - concerning each of the WRC-15 agenda items they have been assigned. These ECP are then submitted to the discussion and approval of CPG-15. ECP thus involve a position statement by each Administration relatively to each item under discussion.
