DTT - Clarification of information provided by PT Comunicações

By determination of 24 April 2013, ANACOM has made a recommendation to PT Comunicações, S. A. (PTC) that it make the information provided on the DTT website (www.tdt.telecom.pthttps://tdt.telecom.pt/) more accessible and clearer.

The recommendation refers to the section on PTC's responsibility "as regards users who, as result of receiving incorrect information from PT Comunicações (and with evidence to that effect), incurred costs in relation to equipment for terrestrial reception in areas which were in fact covered by Complementary DTT reception" (satellite reception). The approved recommendation calls for additional information to be provided on the website, in order to make it clear that refunds are available, to make clear what may be refunded and to set out the procedure to be followed for this purpose. PTC has 3 working days from the date of the Recommendation's notification to make these changes.

Furthermore, in areas where the available information is changed, specifically in areas which were initially identified as having DTT coverage but subsequently identified as having DTH coverage, PTC is required to provide compensation to users involved in a proactive manner, both when contacted by the users through their call centre and when users acquire DTH Kits.
