The 53rd meeting of the Communications Committee was held last 18 February in Brussels.
Highlights included the presentation of the Commission's proposed recommendation on universal service and the discussion of several topics associated to the emergency number (112), criteria for caller locating and the COCOM report on 112 implementation.
The various working groups (WG Satellite Mobile Systems, WG Emergency Access, WG Broadcasting, WG Authorisations and WG Market Data) also saw their terms of reference for 2013 approved.
A proposed questionnaire on digital broadcasting was discussed. Also, the latest broadband report with data from the first half of 2012 was presented.
