The 50th meeting of the Communications Committee (COCOM) was held last 18 October in Brussels, where the European Commission (EC) provided information about transposition of the regulatory framework, which has already been done and notified by 25 member states.
Discussion of the following proposals was also noteworthy:
- proposed recommendation on the notification procedure for article 22/3 of the Universal Service Directive;
- proposed implementation regulation on the separate sale of retail roaming services in the European Union (EU);
- proposed regulation on measures applicable to personal data breach notifications.
The proposals should be approved by the end of the year, either by written procedure or at another COCOM meeting.
