Following the extraordinary plenary meeting conducted on 15 November 2012 in Brussels, and on the same date, the Body of European Regulators for Electronic Communications (BEREC) issued a press release announcing a strengthened commitment, shared with the European Commission (EC), to boosting broadband connectivity in Europe.
At this meeting, BEREC and EC vice-president, Neelie Kroes, agreed a common position on the importance of increasing current levels of investment in high-speed broadband networks/infrastructure, as well as on the creation of conditions enabling harmonisation of costing methodologies and the implementation of non-discrimination obligations across Europe.
