This report, produced by Instituto Nacional de Estatística (Statistics Portugal) in liaison with UMIC - Agência para a Sociedade do Conhecimento (The Knowledge Society Agency - since extinguished), presents the principal indicators measuring access to and use of information and communication technologies (ICT) in enterprises and responds to the European Union (EU) benchmarking indicators of the information society.
In 2012, 91 percent of enterprises with 10 or more employees use the Internet with a broadband connection and 51 percent have mobile connections; 53 percent perform automatic information exchange; and 24 percent have conducted electronic commerce in the previous year.
