Meeting of the Group of Experts on Consumer Complaints - Lisbon


A meeting with the co-ordinator of the Group of Experts on Consumer Complaints under the Directorate-General for Health and Consumers (DG SANCO) of the European Commission (EC) was held last 29 May at the offices of the Autoridade Nacional de Comunicações (ANACOM) in Lisbon.

The main aim of the meeting was to ascertain the extent of implementation of a harmonised methodology to classify and report consumer complaints, to determine the main current challenges and to decide on the next steps to take to fully establish the methodology which in the future will enable harmonised reporting of European consumer complaint data by the various member-state organisations responsible for consumer rights.

The overall balance of the methodology’s implementation is positive. The meeting thus ended with the conviction that ANACOM will be in condition to meet the proposed targets for harmonised reporting of complaint data to the European Commission within the set time periods.
