The 46th plenary meeting of the European Committee for Postal Regulation (CERP) was held last 24-25 May in the Serbian capital Belgrade. It focused on European co-ordination for the 25th Congress of the Universal Postal Union (UPU), to be held from this coming 24 September to 15 October in Doha, Qatar.
The European Commission (EC) representative gave a presentation on latest developments in the European Regulators Group for Postal Services (ERGP) and other issues associated to European regulation. Other highlights included a presentation given by the Association of European Public Postal Operators (PostEurop) on the impact of customs regulation and aeronautic security on postal operators and the UPU representative’s presentation on proposals for the 25th UPU Congress.
The next CERP plenary meeting will be held on 8-9 November in Limassol, Cyprus.
