Use of SAP/SAB applications in 470-862 MHz band

By determination of 10 May 2012, ANACOM has approved the technical conditions governing the use of  SAP/SAB (services ancillary to broadcasting / services ancillary to programme making) in the 470-862 MHz band, amending NTFA 2010/2011. The 470-790 MHz band was identified as the "tuning band" for SAB/SAP applications, excluding use of the 750-758 MHz band 734-742 MHz for use of these types of applications in Mainland Portugal and in the Autonomous Region of Madeira respectively. The possibility of using the 821-832 MHz sub-band was also approved for radio microphones, in the event that the compatibility studies being conducted under the auspices of the European Conference of Postal and Telecommunications Administrations (CEPT) conclude by demonstrating their technical viability.
