Postal operators are required to indicate confidential information

On 2 February 2012, ANACOM decided to require companies providing postal services always to indicate items which they consider confidential whenever they provide information to the regulator - otherwise all information sent without this indication may be considered as potentially revealing commercial or industrial secrets or other internal confidential aspects.

ANACOM also emphasised that this indication must be given on a reasoned basis, taking into account the legal rules that govern access to documents in possession of the administration, in particular the principles of disclosure and transparency.
