ANACOM has released an updated electronic version of its DTT Guide (Guia TDT) which will be distributed to homes nationwide at the end of October. The guide is being produced to help the Portuguese population by answering their queries and explaining, clearly and simply, what people need to do to get their homes ready for the arrival of DTT.
Analogue television broadcasting will be switched off across the country by April 2012. The switch-off will happen in 3 phases.
- 1st Phase - 12 January 2012, transmitters and relays covering the coastal area of the mainland;
- 2nd Phase - 22 March 2012, transmitters and relays covering the Autonomous Regions of the Azores and Madeira;
- 3rd Phase - 26 April 2012, all other transmitters and relays.
