At the invitation of the European Communications Office (ECO), Copenhagen hosted last 23-24 February a meeting of the Technical Regulation & Interconnection Standards (TRIS) project team of the Numbering and Networks working group (WG NaN).
This PT produces studies and reports concerning technical aspects in different areas, among them convergence, interconnection and interoperability between different networks and services.
The following topics were debated at this meeting:
- Localisation and emergency service in the case of VoIP technology;
- Access to civil infrastructure and its geo-referencing;
- Content distribution networks (CDNs).
Presentations were also given on the topic of next generation access (NGA), by Alcatel Lucent (New Technological Solutions over Copper), RTR (Virtual Unbundling) and YouSee-TDC (Bitstream Wholesale in Cable).
