The TISPAN (Telecommunications and Internet converged Services and Protocols for Advanced Networking) Technical Committee held a meeting last 13-17 September at the ETSI headquarters in Sophia Antipolis, France. This committee is in charge of preparing standards for different aspects of next generation networks (NGNs).
Participants in the gathering reviewed issues which are the responsibility of working group 4 (Numbering, Naming, Addressing and Routing) and completed the following documents, to be submitted in the short term for approval by ETSI's component bodies:
- Draft ETSI TR 184 010 - ENUM & DNS Principles for an Interoperator IP backbone network;
- Draft ETSI TS 184 011 - Requirements and usage of E.164 numbers in NGN and NGCN.
The next meeting of this ETSI technical committee will be held this coming December.
