Portugal is now a member of UPU Council of Administration (CA), having been the 10th most voted country, with 126 votes, in the elections held yesterday afternoon at the Congress of this organization, which is taking place in Bucharest until next 5 October.
Portugal will continue with its participation in UPU Postal Operations Council (POC), since the new national candidature received 124 votes, being therefore the fourteenth most voted country in the respective elections.
Both mandates will be for four years.
The new CA, composed of 41 member countries, includes two other Portuguese speaking countries, Angola and Brazil. The latter also participates in the POC, a body where 40 countries are represented.
