The National Authority for the Regulation of the Post and Telecommunications (ARPT) of Algeria issued an invitation to tender for the allocation of two licenses for the establishment and operation of telecommunications public networks and for the provision of inter-urban, international and local fixed telephone services.
On the other hand, the Prime Ministry Privatization Administration of Turkey has announced the beginning of the privatization process of 55% of the shares of the Turk public telecommunications operator, the Türk Telekomunikasyon A.S., including the cable TV infrastructure, the bidding deadline being on 31 May 2005.
