The 40th meeting of the Communications Committee was held in Brussels last 17 June and adopted a favourable position regarding the proposed recommendation on next generation networks. Eighteen member states voted in favour, eight abstained and one voted against. The European Commission also presented a proposed questionnaire on implementation of the '116' number which should be published in June 2010, and a proposed questionnaire on implementation of '112' to be responded to by 10 November.
