APDSI releases Information Society glossary (2nd edition)

The Association for the Promotion and Development of the Information Society - Associação para a Promoção e Desenvolvimento da Sociedade da Informação (APDSI) has released the second edition of its Information Society Glossary.

This glossary, which now totals over 500 entries, includes a revision of practically all the terms covered in original edition, as well as around seventy new terms.  These come from a range of subjects, such as IT, new technologies and business.

The document also contains a table giving the English equivalents of the Portuguese terms, as well as a table of all abbreviations used in English and Portuguese, together with their meanings.  Finally it lists the sources that were used to compile the glossary.

The Information Society Glossary is a result of an APDSI project, whose objective is to compile, systemise and make available Portuguese terminology considered suitable to describe concepts relevant to today’s information society.
