ANACOM authorises UMTS900 technology trials - OPTIMUS

ANACOM has granted OPTIMUS authorisation to carry out technical trials with UMTS900 technology in the GSM extension band.

This authorisation, which is valid for a testing period from 15 July to 31 August 2007, applies solely to the execution of technical trials. The frequencies may not be used for the commercial exploitation of any service, and the trials shall cease immediately in the event that they cause interference to other functioning radiocommunications services.

The granting of this authorization does not imply any commitment, obligation or constraint regarding the future use of UMTS900 type systems in Portugal. It does not imply any obligation whatsoever on the part of ANACOM nor does it imply any right, expectation, or protected interest on the part of OPTIMUS.
