GSM/UMTS Mobile Communication Systems - Evaluation of QoS of voice (GSM) and video-telephony (UMTS) mobile services and network coverage (GSM and WCDMA) in the main urban centres and along the main roads of the Autonomous Regions of the Azores and Madeira

This report presents the results of the evaluation, conducted by ANACOM in June and July 2009, on the quality of voice (GSM), video-telephony (UMTS) mobile services and network coverage (GSM and WCDMA), provided by Sonaecom (Optimus), TMN and Vodafone Portugal in the main urban centres – Ponta Delgada, Angra do Heroísmo and Funchal – and along the main roads of the Autonomous Regions of the Azores and Madeira. The evaluation was performed through the analysis of technical parameters which give a view of quality from the consumer’s perspective.
