The French telecommunications regulator has been given new areas of responsibility, namely over the postal sector, having changed its name to Autorité de Régulation des Communications Electroniques et des Postes (ARCEP).
This change has been expected since the beginning of 2005 and has now taken place with the publication of Law no 2005-516, of May 20, concerning the regulation of postal activities. Chapter II of this law presents all of ARCEP’s responsibilities in this sector.
