Following a decision of 8th June 2005, ANACOM will start developing the tools needed for the renewal of the rights of use of the GSM and DCS 1800 frequencies allocated to VODAFONE PORTUGAL - Comunicações Pessoais, S.A. and to TMN - Telecomunicações Móveis Nacionais, S.A. for the provision of land mobile services.
ANACOM will evaluate the aspects that come out of the renewal of the rights of use given to these mobile service operators, namely those that safeguard the interests of those services’ users, such as the revision of coverage obligations and the definition of quality of service indicators for the provision of data services.
ANACOM will thus promote a consultation in the next month of July, under the terms of the procedure foreseen in article 20 of Law nº 5/2004 of 10th of February, in which all interested parties, namely users and consumers, will have the chance to state their opinion regarding the changes to be made to the operation of these services.
