ANACOM has released the presentation (made in English) made by José Ferrari Careto, a member of its management board, on occasion of the meeting of the Conference Preparatory Group (CPG) of the European Conference of Postal and Telecommunications Administrations (CEPT). The presentation was made through videoconference on 24 February from Lisbon.
At this meeting, held in Ponta Delgada (Azores) between 24 and 26 February 2010, at the invitation of ANACOM, the CPG worked on the preparation of European positions on the issues up for discussion at the 2012 World Radiocommunication Conference (WRC-12), whose agenda covers a broad range of topics including making spectrum use more flexible, questions regarding sharing and compatibility between the mobile service and other services (including broadcasting) in the 790-862 MHz band, introduction of Software-Defined Radio systems and cognitive radio systems (SDR/CR), the Galileo European satellite radio navigation system, unmanned aircraft systems, aeronautical applications and new digital technologies for the mobile maritime service.
The next meeting of the CPG will be held from 28 September to 1 October 2010, in Berlin (Germany).
