A teleconference was held last 19 February between members of the Ad Hoc Committee in the UPAEP Future Development Group, chaired by Portugal. It had been created by decision of the UPAEP Congress held in August 2009. The Ad Hoc Committee is co-chaired by Portugal and Canada and is mandated to revise objectives of the UPAEP working groups and propose changes to their structure with a view to enhancing resources and streamlining work.
Participants in the meeting debated a proposal to rework the structure of the working groups developed by the two co-chairing countries. The revised version after the discussions will be submitted to the organisation’s Executive and Advisory Council, scheduled for March 2010.
