EMERG plenary meeting - Rabat

The Euro-Mediterranean Regulators Group (EMERG) held a plenary meeting last 12-13 January in the Moroccan capital Rabat which was preceded by a workshop on regulatory developments in the EU, particularly changes to the regulatory framework, the new relevant markets list and the digital dividend. A presentation was also given on bilateral aid instruments backed by European funds.

The EMERG plenary session saw the presentation of results from the previous presidency (Malta) and the election of the Moroccan regulator ANRT to the EMERG presidency in 2010, with the Italian regulator AGCOM to hold the vice-presidency (and the presidency in 2011). The NATP-3 project supporting EMERG was also presented, along with the 2009 “Euro-Mediterranean Benchmarking Report”, which envisages the organisation of various workshops. Lastly, the ANRT gave a presentation on the regulatory framework in Morocco.
