Conduct of BWA tests in the 3.4-3.8 GHz band - extension of period

In light of the interest manifested by certain entities in conducting technical BWA (Broadband Wireless Access) trials in the 3.4-3.8 GHz band, and also taking into account the scheduled date of allocation of rights of use of frequencies in this band, by determination of 4 February 2010, ANACOM decided to extend the period allowed for the conduct of technical trials until 31 March 2010.

With respect to the technical trials in the 2500-2690 MHz and 5725-5785 MHz frequency bands, it was decided to maintain the position of this Authority which is set out in the notification published on this website on 23 July 2009. In accordance with this position, the conduct of trials will be allowed for periods to be defined and upon request, subject to the presentation of a plan with the following data:

  • Desired frequency band;

  • Location where trials will be conducted;

  • Description of the technology and specifications of the equipment to be used;

  • Period of time required.
