Interconnection

/ Updated on 08.11.2002

In the year 2000 a significant drop in the call termination in the fixed network was observed, where the drop has been more obvious at the level of the double transit (Figure 9). It may therefore be said that the levels of interconnection applicable to 1998 and 1999 are not directly comparable with those applicable to 2000, since in 1998 and 1999 the levels of interconnection were local, regional and national, whereas in 2000 the local, simple and double transit systems was introduced.

Note: The levels of interconnection applicable to 1998 and 1999 are not directly comparable
with those applicable to 2000. In 1998 and 1999, the levels of interconnection were Local, Regional and National.

In terms of international comparisons a significant development occurred in terms of a progressive alignment of internal prices with practices current in the European Union (Figure 10).
