The use of assigned or reserved channels/frequencies, in exclusive or shared situations, for the operation of radiocommunications stations is generally subject to prior co-ordination of frequencies at the national and international level.

In this context, the channels/frequencies listed in the tables are used in a specific geographic area, with or without the imposition of technical constraints, in excluse or shared situations, by public network operators, service providers for public use telecommunications and/or private telecommunications network owners, for operation of the respective radiocommunications stations.

In satellite radiocommunications, dynamic management of frequencies is commonplace. This process consists in the use of a variable number of frequencies associated with different "typical" bandwidths, as a function of the traffic to be transmitted and depending on each type of application.
