Attempted fraud by false representatives of ANACOM

Over the last few days, ANACOM has been informed, through the support line, of complaints of people who were approached by individuals who said they came on behalf of ANACOM and sought to gain commercial benefits, namely by concluding new communications contracts.

This attempted fraud occurs with some frequency, with only the type of approach changing. The victims of these types of practices refer to having been contacted by telephone by persons claiming to be ANACOM representatives for an alleged study on the quality of internet access or to conclude communications contracts.

ANACOM informs that it is not carrying out any contacts of this nature, and therefore, the information provided by these individuals is false. ANACOM deplores and strongly condemns these types of practices.

Should anything occur that could possibly configure attempted fraud/swindling, it is crucial to notify the security authorities immediately. If you are a victim of these practices, we recommend that you submit a complaint to the Public Security Police (PSP) or the National Republican Guard (GNR), or directly contact the Public Prosecutor’s Office (MP) or the Department of Criminal Investigation and Prosecution (DIAP) at the court of the area in which the facts occurred.
