On 10 March 2020, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of ANACOM João Cadete de Matos, received the Belgian Ambassador, Geneviève Renaux, in the context of this country's candidature to the Universal Postal Union (UPU), the specialised agency of the United Nations for the postal sector.
Geneviève Renaux presented the reasoning underlying the candidature of Jack Hamande to the position of Director General, namely his vision on the future of the UPU and the principles he defends for the performance of the position to which he is applying.
The election of the next Director General of the UPU will take place at the 27th UPU Congress, which will be held in Abidjan (Ivory Coast), in August of this year.
