The first edition of the NewSpace Atlantic Summit, organized by the Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT) in collaboration with the Ciência Viva Agency for Scientific and Technology Culture and the Space Frontier Foundation, was held on 28 and 29 May 2018 in the Pavilhão do Conhecimento in Lisbon.
The main themes of the conference were the recent national strategy for space, "Portugal Space 2030", and the draft law, the Space Act (Lei do Espaço). João Cadete de Matos, Chairman of the Board of Directors of ANACOM, participated in the closing session of the first day of the event.
