A bilateral meeting between João Cadete de Matos, Chair of ANACOM, and Juarez Quadros, Chair of Agência Nacional de Telecomunicações (ANATEL), took place on 6 November 2017 in Brasilia.
This is the first visit by João Cadete de Matos to a foreign sector regulator since taking office as Chair of ANACOM's Board of Directors. In fact, cooperation with ANATEL is one of ANACOM's priorities, with a view to continuing and consolidating the close cooperation that began several years ago on the basis of the protocols signed between Portugal and Brazil.
This meeting provided an opportunity to exchange experience and information on the activity of ANACOM and ANATEL, and to define the topics to be discussed at the next bilateral meeting between the two regulators, which will take place in Portugal in 2018.
Today, 7 November João Cadete de Matos is participating as a speaker at the "X TelComp Seminar 2017 - Digital Transformation and Telecommunications", on the panel "Public policies and regulation in times of digital transformation". The event will take place in São Paulo and is organised by TelComp - Associação Brasileira das Prestadoras de Telecomunicações Competitivas (Brazilian Association of Competitive Telecommunications Providers).
