2nd meeting of CPG PTB meeting - London


The second meeting of project team B of the Conference Preparatory Group (CPG PTB) took place last 9-11 November at the offices of the United Kingdom’s communications regulator (Ofcom) in London, chaired by Stanislava Tereschenko. This preparatory meeting was attended by 54 delegates representing 16 administrations as well as representatives from the Radiocommunication Bureau of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), the European Communications Office (ECO) and regional organisations and satellite operators.

At this meeting the updated briefs (documents serving as technical support for drafting and justifying European common proposals) for all items under this group’s responsibility were approved, concerning revision of the limits contained in annex 7 of Ap.30 (satellite broadcasting service plans), use of the 27.5-29.5 GHz (up) and 17.7-19.7 GHz (down) bands by ESIMs, the regulatory framework for non-geostationary orbit (NGSO) satellites in the Q/V bands, the revision and if necessary amendment of the early publication procedures, the coordination and registry of satellite networks and systems, technical and regulatory questions applicable to fixed satellite service (FSS) NGSOs in the 3700-4200 MHz, 4500-4800 MHz, 5925-6425 MHz and 6725-7025 MHz bands, national management of non-authorised terminal transmissions, spectrum requisites and possible allocation of the 51.4-52.4 GHz band for FSS (up).

The next meeting of CPG PTB will be held on 7-9 February 2017.
