A report produced by the European Regulators Group for Postal Services (ERGP) shows that, although the postal market is developing differently in different European countries, the region faces a set of common challenges.
One difficulty arises from the fact that the growth in express mail has not been strong enough to offset the decline in correspondence and non-express mail.
Meanwhile, market concentration remains very high in the non-express mail segment and employment levels in the postal sector continue to drop.
