Instigation of proceedings in respect of breaches found in the use of the 1820 number by PTC

By determination of 17 May 2012, ANACOM decided to instigate breach proceedings against PT Comunicações, S.A. having basis in the irregularities found in the use of the 1820 number, both as resulting from the offer of services through this number as are unrelated to telephone directories - which may constitute an offence as provided for in point h), paragraph 2 of article 113 of said law, which offence, where the perpetrator thereof is a large company, shall be punishable with a fine of between 10 000.00 and 1 000 000.00 euros, under the terms of paragraph 7 of the same article - and also as a result of the information made available regarding the tariff applicable to calls made through the services provided for under said paragraph being inadequate and lacking in transparency - which may constitute an offence as provided for in point r) paragraph 2 of article 113 of said law, which offence is punishable with a fine of between 10 000.00 and 100 000.00, under the terms of paragraph 7 of the same article.
