43rd plenary meeting - Istanbul

The 43rd plenary meeting of CERP was held last 24-26 November in Istanbul. The agenda centred on the reorganisation of CERP, with provisional approval of the new framework and completion of the activity of the current project teams (PTs) and working groups (WGs) due to the transfer of postal regulation matters to the newly created European Regulators Group for Postal Services (ERGP), under the aegis of the European Commission (EC).

The latest developments regarding creation of the ERGP were otherwise the subject of the EC representative’s speech; the Universal Postal Union (UPU) representative in turn presented main results from the annual session of the UPU Council of Administration (CA) held in Berne from last 25 October to 12 November.

The next CERP plenary meeting will be held in May 2011 in Dublin; the 45th plenary meeting will be held in the Swiss city of Montreux immediately before the 2011 session of the UPU CA. The host for the 46th CERP plenary meeting will be Serbia (Belgrade), while Cyprus has proposed holding the 47th plenary meeting, to be held in the scope of the Cypriot presidency of the European Union.
