Portugal hosts the 14th CPLP Communications Forum

The 14th CPLP Communications Forum https://www.anacom.pt/render.jsp?contentId=1782522will be held on 26 June 2024 at the Dr. António Cupertino de Miranda Foundation in Oporto. The event is dedicated to “The Sustainable Development Goals and the Communications Sector” and is jointly organised by ANACOM and the Association of Communications and Telecommunications Regulators of the CPLP (ARCTEL).

Digitalisation and technological development have led to a paradigm shift in the communications sector. How does this transformation relate to sustainability and to the pursuit of the United Nations 2030 Agenda and the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)?

With digitalisation, we’re witnessing new (tele)working, production and management practices that are more sustainable, less energy-intensive from an environmental point of view. From a social point of view, these are practices that make it easier to reconcile personal and professional life. And to what extent can we guarantee efficient regulation and connectivity between the Portuguese-speaking world?

At the 14th edition of the CPLP Communications Forum, ARCTEL aims to focus on best practices in sustainability in Portuguese-speaking countries and encourage the exchange of experiences between stakeholders in the sector.

Issues such as decarbonising communications, increasing the energy efficiency of networks and services, and the innovative solutions being explored by academia and adopted by industry and communications and postal operators will be discussed.

Attendance is free and open to anyone interested in the topic and in the communications sector, subject to pre-registrationhttps://www.anacom.pt/render.jsp?categoryId=430944 by 24 June 2024 and venue capacity.
