Radiocommunications: from the Earth to the Universe - the theme chosen for the 3rd congress of the Portuguese Committee of URSI

The Portuguese Committee of URSI - International Union of Radio Science, whose works are organised by ANACOM, is due to hold its third Congress on 3 and 4 November 2009 at Fundação Portuguesa das Comunicações in Lisbon, with this year's theme focusing on "Radiocommunications: from the Earth to the Universe".

The Committee's objective is to promote the dissemination of scientific works in the area of radio electricity and to encourage the exchange of experience among researchers, manufacturers and service providers, among others. Recently, an invitation was issued to all interested parties to submit papers in the scientific areas identified as relevant to the Congress - some of these will be presented during the Congress.

Participation is free and open to all interested parties.  However participants need to register in advance, no later than 30 October 2009, on ANACOM's website at www.anacom.pthttps://www.anacom.pt/render.jsp?categoryId=2958.

URSI - International Union of Radio Science is a non-governmental and non-profit organisation under the International Council for Science, responsible for stimulating and co-ordinating, on an international basis, studies, research, applications, scientific exchange, and communication in the fields of radio science. The members of URSI are the national committees of different countries, and in the Portuguese case, it falls to ANACOM to organise the works of the Portuguese committee.
