The second Addendum to the Prices Convention for the Universal Postal Service was signed between Direcção-Geral do Comércio e da Concorrência (DGCC), Autoridade Nacional de Comunicações (ANACOM) and CTT - Correios de Portugal, on 20 January.
This Addendum, composed of one sole article, defines the regime of price setting for non-reserved postal services that are part of the Universal service for the year 2003, establishing that the weighted average annual variation for the non-reserved postal services cannot exceed the CPI + 1%, in nominal terms.
The Prices Convention for the Universal Postal Service was entered into between DGCC, ANACOM and CTT, on 21 December 2000, pursuant to Universal Postal Service Concession Contract, of 1 September 2000, and to Law no. 102/99, of 26 July. The Convention, which came into force on 1 January 2001 and is valid for a 3-year period, was already subject to an addendum signed on 21 December 2001, regarding the weighted average annual variation of prices for non-reserved postal services that are part of the universal service for the year 2002.
