ICP licensed E3G-Telecomunicações, S.A. for the provision of Fixed Telephone Service (FTS), within national territory. This license is granted for the term of 15 years, beginning on January the 1st 2000.
E3G is the first of the fixed telephone service candidates to be licensed by the Instituto das Comunicações de Portugal.
Vocal telephony is the last of the market segments to be opened to competition. When this happens on January the 1st 2000, the Portuguese telecommunications market will be totally liberalised.
