Throughout the year of 1998, ICP coordinated and carried out, under the guidance of the Minister for Equipment, Planning and Territorial Administration, a series of studies under the theme: Prospects for Telecommunications in the First Decade of the 21st Century. The areas covered by the studies were those seen as fundamental for the evolution of the sector over the next ten years. They were:
- Networks and services;
- The Industry supplying equipment and services to the telecommunications sector;
- Human resources;
- The Internet, telecommunications and the information society;
- The global evolution of telecommunications and the macroeconomic context.
