Apportioning costs in the replacement of DC systems

Under the terms of the clarification of 20 July 2007, PT Comunicações (PTC) was notified that in apportioning costs in respect of the replacement of the DC (direct current) system in a given PTC exchange, the total space occupied by all active equipment of all operators, including operators of Grupo PT, should be taken into account, with consideration to the fact that the complete substitution of a DC system affects all equipment/operators in the exchange concerned. Under this rule, the period of one year should be counted as commencing on the day that the new version of the Reference Unbundling Offer (RUO) enters into force, 28 June 2007.
