Voice-mail service provision
By determination of June 2, 1999, so that the voice mail service be provided in strict compliance with the applicable legislation (Law no. 26/96, from July 31), namely as far as protection of the rights of consumers is concerned, it was decided as follows:
The public land mobile service operators and the fixed telephone service provider must ensure that, after the beginning of the voice-mail service message, a period of time not lower than 5 seconds be granted without any cost to the caller user so that the latter may have time to chose between using or not using the functionality.
The operators must implement this until July 15, 1999.
Should any proven operational specificities exist in any type of communications that require special adaptation procedures, a 15-day maximum extension may be granted as from said date.
