New ANACOM Board begins work

ANACOM's new board of directors, chaired by José Manuel Amado da Silva, took up its duties yesterday. Sitting on the board alongside Amado da Silva are: Vice-chairman, Alberto Souto de Miranda, and Eduardo de Almeida Cardadeiro, José Manuel Ferrari Careto, and Teresa Xavier Pintado Maury, who sat on the previous board.

The members of the new board were nominated by the Council of Ministers on 8 June.

The new board is, at this stage, studying the various ANACOM projects currently underway and discussing the allocation of management positions within the regulator - it doesn't have decision-making powers until the formal transfer of executive authority.
