At the end of the 2nd quarter of 2024, the number of bundled services subscribers totalled 4.7 million (+107 thousand or +2.3% compared to the same quarter last year). The growth is mainly related to 4/5P offers (+159 thousand or +6.3%).
4/5P offers were the most used, with 2.7 million subscribers (57.0% of all bundle subscribers), followed by 3P offers with 1.6 million subscribers (34.5%). 3P offers experienced the largest annual decline since 2015 (-3.5%).
The residential segment accounted for 86.8% of subscribers to bundled offers, the majority of which were 4/5P bundles (59.4%). The non-residential segment, which accounted for 13.2% of the total, had a share of 2P offers of 23.2%, significantly higher than the residential segment (6.3%).
At the end of the 2nd quarter of 2024, around 85.5% of fixed accesses were sold as a bundle, depending on the service: 83.3% for fixed telephone service (FTS) accesses, 96.4% for Internet access service (IAS) accesses at a fixed location and 98.1% for Pay-TV (PTV) signal distribution service accesses. For mobile access, the share of bundled offers was lower (35.5%).
Focusing on the residential segment, single-play offers represented 1.1% of total IAS residential accesses and 2.8% of total FTS residential accesses.
Between January and June 2024, revenues from bundled services (excluding VAT) totalled around EUR 1096 million (53.7% of total retail revenues), an increase of 9.1% compared to the same period last year. Annual growth of around 9% has been recorded for four consecutive quarters, which has not been the case since 2016. Revenues from 4/5P offers accounted for 68.4% of total bundled revenues, or 36.8% of total retail revenues. The residential segment accounted for 86.7% of bundled service revenues.
The average monthly revenue per bundle subscriber was EUR 38.99 (+6.5% year-on-year). For 4/5P offers the average monthly revenue was EUR 47.46 (+5.1%) and for 3P offers EUR 30.21 (+5.3%).
At the end of the 2nd quarter of 2024, MEO was the operator with the largest share of subscribers to bundled services (41.7%), followed by Grupo NOS (35.0%), Vodafone (20.6%) and NOWO (2.6%). Compared with the same quarter last year, MEO and Vodafone increased their share of subscribers (+0.4 p.p. and +0.1 p.p. respectively), while Grupo NOS (-0.4 p.p.) and NOWO (-0.2 p.p.) lost subscribers.
MEO had the highest share of subscribers in all types of offers: 2P (47.9%), 3P (39.3%) and 4/5P (42.2%); and in both segments: residential (40.1%) and non-residential (52.4%).
In the 2nd quarter of 2024, Vodafone became the second operator with the highest share of subscribers to 3P offers (28.8%), ahead of Grupo NOS (28.7%).
MEO also had the highest share of revenues from bundled services (40.0%), followed by Grupo NOS (39.4%), Vodafone (19.1%) and NOWO (1.4%).
In terms of type of offer and customer segment, Grupo NOS stood out with the highest share of revenues from bundled offers in the residential segment (41.3%) and in 4/5P offers (44.8%), while MEO had the highest share of revenues from bundled offers in the non-residential segment (49.0%) and in 2P (41.3%) and 3P (42.7%) offers.
