ANACOM grants CTT's request to change the date of entry into force of the decision on the distribution of postal items to premises other than the home


On 28 June 2022, ANACOM approved the final decision granting the request by CTT – Correios de Portugal (CTT) to change the date of entry into force of ANACOM's decision of 29 April 2021https://www.anacom.pt/render.jsp?contentId=1723361 on the distribution of postal items to premises other than the home.

In view of CTT's request, ANACOM, while taking into account:

  • the complexity of the procedures that will have to be adopted within the scope of the implementation of the decision of 29 April 2021 and the time required to carry them out;
  • that the decision in question began to take effect with the entry into force of the new concession contract, on 8 February 2022;
  • that adequate implementation of the provisions of the decision justifies granting the (new) concessionaire a longer period for the execution of all actions and measures that are necessary to achieve compliance;

decided to grant the request submitted by CTT, amending point 3 of  ANACOM's decision of 29 April 2021https://www.anacom.pt/render.jsp?contentId=1723361 on the distribution of postal items to premises other than the home, as follows:

“Determine that the conditions and obligations set out in this decision are in force from 01 January 2023 until expiry of the contract concluded by the Portuguese State for the provision of services that are part of the universal service following expiration of the current concession”.
