Prices of Mainland-Azores-Madeira circuits reduced by 13%

On 11 May 2022, ANACOM approved a final decision on the revision of the prices of circuits connecting Mainland Portugal and the Autonomous Regions of the Azores and Madeira (CAM circuits) and of the prices of circuits linking various islands of the Azores (inter-island circuits), supported over submarine cables owned by MEO - Serviços de Comunicação e Multimédia (MEO), within the framework of the leased lines reference offer (LLRO) and the Reference Ethernet Leased Lines Offer (RELLO).

Following the analysis carried out and in light of the measures determined subsequent to analysis of the market for high-quality wholesale access at a fixed location (access and trunk segments), ANACOM decided:

  • to maintain the prices of traditional circuits, within the framework of MEO's LLRO regulated offer, and the (maximum) prices of inter-island circuits, within the scope of MEO's regulated RELLO offer;
  • that the monthly prices per unsecured Ethernet CAM section/circuit, within the scope of the RELLO, shall not, as of 10 December 2021, exceed the maximum prices defined in the following table:
