MEO proposal to address the lack of DTT coverage in Baião (Silves)

By decision of 22 December 2021, ANACOM has approved a draft decision on the proposal presented by MEO – Serviços de Comunicações e Multimédia (MEO) in compliance with ANACOM's decision of 9 April 2020https://www.anacom.pt/render.jsp?contentId=1523124. The proposal seeks to remedy a lack of coverage by the digital terrestrial television (DTT) service, by terrestrial means, in the town of Baião, São Marcos da Serra, municipality of Silves.

It was decided to submit this draft decision to a prior hearing of MEO, in accordance with articles 121 et seq. of Código do Procedimento Administrativo (Administrative Proceeding Code) and to the general consultation procedure provided for in article 8 of the LCE - Lei das Comunicações Eletrónicas (Electronic Communications Law). For both procedures, interested parties are given a period of 20 working days in which to comment (comments in writing and in Portuguese). ERC - Entidade Reguladora para a Comunicação Social (Media Regulatory Authority) was also notified so that, if it wished, it could issue a written opinion on the matter, under article 14 of Lei da Televisão (Television Law), within the period established for the previous procedures.
